Experience True Exploration - LAMAVE Partners with the Philippine Siren
LAMAVE and the elegant Philippine Siren team up once again to bring divers right to the heart of conservation and exploration.
LAMAVE and the Philippine Siren of Master Liveaboards worked together to create a unique, exploratory liveaboard scuba diving itinerary for January 2023. Starting off from Cebu City and winding north to Ticao, this 10-day expedition will take you from the thresher sharks of Malapascua up to the spectacle of nature that is Manta Bowl. In between these sites, guests will get to explore the uncharted waters of the Ticao-Burias Pass Protected Seascape as they team up with a LAMAVE researcher to uncover the truth behind rumors of reclusive sharks, gorgonian gardens, and islands of outstanding natural beauty.
The Call of the Siren
The beauty below the waves is echoed above by the 40-meter long Philippine Siren. The liveaboard vessel is handcrafted from traditional Philippine hardwoods. Most strikingly, the Siren features billowing sails that guide the vessel along its route. Still winds are no problem either as the liveaboard is motorized.
The Philippine Siren is the largest of the Master Liveaboard fleet, capable of accommodating up to 16 guests across eight luxurious cabins. Each cabin is equipped with individually controlled air-conditioning units and private en-suite bathrooms with hot water. For added luxury, bathrobes and towels are provided.
The Siren’s common areas include a cocktail bar, saloon, al-fresco dining, and a large dive deck. This dive deck is a particular highlight of the vessel, providing ample space for divers to gear up. There is also a designated area for even the most equipment-laden underwater photographers to kit up without having to squeeze themselves around other divers.
The vessel also benefits from 2 high-powered tenders, nitrox compressor, equipment rental, kayaks, laundry, and massage services.

Beyond Diving
More than just a liveaboard expedition, this cruise will take divers right to the heart of marine conservation. In between dives, LAMAVE’s conservationist on board will be lending insights into what really goes on in the front lines of shark and ray conservation and how we can all contribute to the cause. More than that, guests have an opportunity to work with LAMAVE directly as the expedition includes visits to underwater acoustic receivers that we have deployed in the past to gather data.
Booking this expedition with the code “DONATELAMAVE” means that you’ll directly contribute 10% of your booking fee to LAMAVE’s marine conservation efforts. Without this code, your donation won’t be processed.
A Partnership of Values
LAMAVE and the Philippine Siren have worked together in the past to give guests exhilarating diving, liveaboard, and conservation experiences. The first expedition between the two happened in March 2017, and it involved a trip to none other than Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park, the crown jewel of the Philippine diving sites. The expedition was a huge success for all involved, most especially the guests. Naturally, more trips to the Visayas followed visiting wildlife hotspots like Panoan Island, So.Leyte and Balicasag Island, Bohol. Were it not for the untimely arrival of COVID-19, this partnership would have continued uninterrupted.
This 2023 exploratory expedition represents the rekindling of a partnership with a history of unparalleled luxury, exhilarating diving, and shared conservation values.
