Raymart Cacacha
Project Officer
Raymart’s love for the sea stemmed from childhood summers when his family went to the beach often. This spark of interest led him to later earn a degree in Biology focusing on Marine Biology.
In 2021, he joined a project that studied the impact of macro and microplastics on the marine environment in Palawan. This opened his eyes to the impacts of human activities on the environment and urged him to get involved in conservation work.
Raymart joined LAMAVE in 2022 as a Research Assistant for the Rapid Bycatch Assessment (RBA) Project, studying the impact of bycatch from small-scale fisheries on endangered marine wildlife.
He is now a Project Officer working on multiple projects ranging from bycatch to marine mammal monitoring.
