A local of Palawan, Shaira was seeking change when she first read about marine conservation efforts on the island and the work that LAMAVE is doing.
Intrigued, she joined the team initially as a part-time Finance and Office Administrator. The role exposed her to the inner workings of running conservation projects and fostered a greater interest and care for marine wildlife.
Shaira went on to become a full-time member of the team, where she continues to use her skills in financial management to support the overall administration of research projects and the LAMAVE headquarters.
